The 2022 FIFA World Cup™ will inspire a
great sporting future in the Middle East.
As a major supporter of the Qatar National Vision 2030, the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) is dedicated to promoting sporting activity and educating people about its health benefits.
Through relationships built up with local and regional communities, we are spreading a passion for football and exercise. We are also raising awareness of the extensive, high-quality fitness and football facilities we are delivering.
Our 2022 FIFA World Cup™ stadium complexes will feature everything from football pitches to gyms, and swimming pools to sports medicine hospitals, giving communities world-class sporting facilities on their doorstep.
The lasting legacy of these facilities – which is already being felt – will be healthier populations and increased access to sport for key groups such as young people and women.
So when we deliver stadium infrastructure, we are also helping to build more inclusive societies.
Supporting grassroots football
As well as building sporting
infrastructure, the SC is also a major sponsor of existing sporting activity in
the Middle East.
The holy month of Ramadan is traditionally a time when many in the region take part in football tournaments. During Ramadan in 2016, we sponsored eight local Ramadan tournaments in Qatar, and one each in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman. Every year we reach out to lend support to more and more of these competitions, which bring communities together and enable us to engage with football fans in the region.
Being involved in local sporting events throughout the Middle East is yet another way we connect with the people whose opinions matter most to us.
These are the individuals who can help us to make the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar™ a tournament full of local flavour – and a defining event for the region’s future.
