The Supreme Committee for Delivery &
Legacy (SC) uses the power of football to inspire and accelerate development –
not just in Qatar, but far beyond its shores. The SC’s Generation Amazing
programme plays a major role in this, giving workers, schoolchildren
and vulnerable people the skills and means to effect social change in their communities.
Since its founding in 2010, Generation Amazing has been driven by the belief that change works best when people lead it themselves. The programme empowers people to create united, healthy and sustainable societies through its three primary initiatives: Inclusive Generation, Healthy Generation and Green Generation.
We take a message of sustainability into schools in Qatar, teaching the
next generation not only about environmental problems and their
solutions, but also that caring for the Earth is their responsibility.
As with our Healthy Generation workshops, we plan to expand the reach of
this sustainability message to children all over the Gulf region.

Generation Amazing is tackling the issue of unhealthy lifestyles in the
Middle East head on. Our school workshops ensure that children in Qatar
grow up appreciating the importance of regular exercise and a balanced
diet. These workshops use football-based activities to keep lessons
memorable and children interested, and will spread to other Gulf
countries in the near future.

To promote a truly inclusive society in Qatar, Generation Amazing
delivers workshops which use football training exercises to foster a
culture of inclusivity. Schoolchildren, and the migrant workers helping
to build Qatar’s future, are taught the importance of self-respect,
mutual respect and tolerance. We also run workshops in developing
countries, helping to spread the message of inclusion and giving
vulnerable individuals the skills they need to improve their situation.

The legacy so far
Generation Amazing has found a way to promote healthy lifestyles,
develop global football and bring communities together with a single act
– by building football pitches. So far, Generation Amazing has created
pitches in Nepal, Pakistan, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon, contributing to
development in both the Middle East and the homelands of many of the
workers delivering stadiums for the 2022 FIFA World Cup™. This is the

Some of those same nations have also benefited from our youth ambassadors initiative, which empowers local young people to make valuable contributions to their own societies. Youth ambassadors receive training in disciplines such as communication, respect, tolerance, gender equality, team-building and decision-making, enabling them to enact positive change in the communities around them.
By the time of the 2022 FIFA World Cup™, Generation Amazing is forecast to have created over 100 youth ambassadors and benefited countless others.
