The FIFA World Cup 2022™ will be the most connected in history. The challenge was to identify ways the internet of things can provide innovative services that will create a more accessible, safer and better tournament experience.

We asked entrants to focus on at least one of the following areas: journey planning and navigation; crowd control; virtual queues; sport as entertainment; or sport and health.

Final competition

18 – 20 November 2017  |  Doha, Qatar

Finalists attended two days of pitching workshops and then pitched their ideas to judges on the final day. All finalists benefitted from networking and skills development opportunities during this period. The winners each gained USD 15,000 in prize money, the chance to apply for a grant of up to USD 100,000 and invaluable contacts and opportunities.
