A spectacular new stadium is rising up on the site of the old Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan. It will be a truly memorable venue, with a striking design that epitomises Qatar's history – and its future.

The stadium is more than halfway complete, with the concrete stands in place and roof stabilisation in progress. Its distinctive façade, which weaves together symbols representing Qatar, is now being assembled.

Although this project is an international endeavour, one crucial element of the stadium – its 40,000 seats – will be produced by a local factory at Coastal Qatar. This boost to Qatar's economy is just one small part of the long-term legacy being created here.
